[Movie] 2012
Yesterday 2012 was premiered in cinema and of course Lena and I watched it. I mean, great action movie, what else reason do we need. *lol*
While the trailers were aired, we decided we have to watch at least four other movies within the next months.
Anyway, about 2012.
When I watched “Sat1 Frühstücksfernsehen” Yesterday, the critic guy was totally excited about the movie and so I went to watch it with great expectations and… what should I say.
A lot destruction and devastation! *__*

Okay, to be honest: Really new was nothing about the movie. Another Apocalypse, another family drama and another more or less happy end – if you can call the death of over 7 billion people and nearly every fauna and flora a happy end.
There’re the typical guy you don’t like, the guy you like and the guy, you change your opinion about while watching, and also children and a woman, for the quota and drama.
At a few scenes the special effects aren’t that good and you see it’s CGI, at a few scenes you just think, it’s typical and cliché, because no good guy dies at the end and there’re a few or a few more things that don’t make this movie a piece of art, but this is all objectively.
…subjectively, I was totally excited! *gggg*
So much explosions and destruction and drama. *lol*
Ah, man! When Yellowstone went boom it looked like… Woah! But I’m totally angry about the cinema, since they decided to make a break in the middle of the eruption! ARGH! Ridiculous! -.-
I also liked the scene when the family fled out of the town and the whole city broke apart and the one guy shouted “Donut!” when a big on the roof-commercial-thing donut rolled over the street and nearly over the car of the family. I mean, seriously I didn’t want to be nearly flattened by a huge donut, but that was so Simpson-like.
And I felt so sorry for - I think his name was Gordon – when he had to fly, but never really was a pilot. *lol* Once he said to the other guy: “Stop calling me a pilot!”. Poor guy, after that he had to be the co-pilot for another Russian guy.
In that plane, it was a really huge plane, were so many cool cars, also a yellow Lamborghini Gallardo cabriolets… Yeah, I paid attention to that. *drop* Though, all the nice cars were crashed in the end when the plane made a forced landing on a glacier. What a pity…
Anyway…. There were lot scenes I really liked, even with the somewhat cliché laden characters (who I liked, anyway), but to mention all of them would be a bit too much. The movie wasn’t short. Óo I was quite surprised when there suddenly was the break.
And I have to admit that the second half was quite too long. I don’t know, but in my opinion the first half had a much better flow than the last one. Honestly, I can’t say why, but when they reached the arcs and the movie didn’t want to end and went on and on, I thought that it is somewhat like “too much”.
But, anyway, something I have to mention: The arcs! Holy shit! They looked… pompous. And at the end when all the things on them moved and changed and opened I was totally excited! *___* It looked awesome!
And once you can see their ship’s propellers under water and… Fuck! I mean, the arcs were god damn huge and thinking about their size, how big the propellers have to be? I mean, propellers of an “usual” carrier are already damn big and they have tolerances within centimetre scope, what is like a whole universe at smaller dimensions of engineering like cars and such!
I have no idea if it would be even possible to build such big propellers. If it’s even possible to found one propeller blade this big…! O___O
…but seriously: I don’t care. It was nice to look at and that’s good enough. *lol*
I don’t know if I recommend this movie, since it’s really long and nothing is really “new”. Though, if you like catastrophe movies and action without thinking too much, then it should be your choice. *lol*
